After graduating from the Hallmark Institute of Photography in Massachusetts, Russell returned to his native Maryland and sought out a photographic position that would be both challenging and rewarding.

After working with many photographers in the Baltimore/Annapolis metro area, Russell joined Freed Photography in 2003. He immediately felt comfortable at the Freed studio, where the photographers are always pushing themselves to improve. Russell has a passion for art and photography, and he spends much of his time at the studio studying images created by the other photographers in a quest to further develop his skills.

Russell is a member of the Professional Photographers of America and is involved with many charitable organizations. His relaxed and easygoing nature puts those around him at ease. Whether in his personal or professional life, Russell enjoys the opportunity to meet new people.

Using his extensive collection of cameras, Russell photographs the interesting places he visits and people he meets, and many of those images have been displayed in local galleries, commercial buildings and publications. He is an avid disc golf player and likes playing the drums and the didgeridoo, an Australian wind instrument, at various settings throughout the area.
